This season the ladies will not be playing at the Falcon, instead they will be based at the Cross Keys, Cowden.
Most of the team is made up of Withernwick ladies, so it is right that we should continue to report their results here.
   
The averages in red are the official averages which contain a 100 point bonus for  a finish. In order to make the averages more easily readable by general readers, the averages in red do not have the finish bonus but do have the number of finishes in brackets.

Thursday 7th May v Hare and Hounds (Lost 1-8)

The ladies played their last game of the season this week and seem to have completely lost form. It was a very disappointing 8-1 loss for us although we were playing one of the best teams in the league.  Yes the Harey Ladies beat us fair and square, we scored well but they finished effortlessly every time.  Linda had some very impressive scores, a league high of 162 followed by another 111 and Clare had a fantastic finish of 43.

Thursday 23rd April v Duke of York (Skirlaugh) (Lost 4-5)
  
The ladies were away to the Duke of York at Skirlaugh this week.  We got off to a great start Mary got our 1st point with a fantastic 67 finish.  Next up was Linda who had another great game finishing on double 6 to get us another point.  It then all went pear shaped.  Captain Carol (who is playing rubbish of late ) started the rot by losing the 3rd game and consequently we lost every other single after that, going into the doubles with a losing score of 4-2 to the Duke. We fared a bit better in the doubles, Nikki and Carol got us another point in the 5th, Nikki finishing on double 1  and Karen and Jackie got us the last of the night Jacky finishing again on double 1. Only 2 games left, next week its Hare & Hounds, wish us luck we might just thrash them on home turf, you never know your luck.

Thursday 16th April v Double Dutch (Lost 3-6)
    
The ladies were at home to the Double Dutch ladies this week, after a 2 week break to do the cups,  the break did us no good what-so-ever.  We were scoring fantastic but just couldn't finish.  It was up to Jacky in the 6th game to get us our 1st point so. Linda had scored really well in the 4th where she got the highest score of the season with 140 but had no luck at the finish. Jacky had a great game and finished on 44 in the doubles to get us another point and Karen got the next point with another fabulous finish on 57. We finished the match with a score of 6-3 to the Dutch ladies, we had a nice night but we have liked it more had we won. Next week we are away to the Duke of York.  Wish us luck.

Thursday 26th March v Brands B (Lost 4-5)
   
The ladies were away to Brands B on Thursday, It wasn't an easy match, the Brands B Ladies were in top form and sadly we were flagging again.  We had to wait for Karen in game 4 to get us our 1st point of the night finishing on double 1, Hannah got us another point in the 6th so we went into the doubles with a score of 4-2 to the Brands Ladies.  Things picked up in the doubles Pat and Karen getting us another point, Pat finishing on double 1 again and Clare and Jackie got us the last point of the night thanks to Jackie.  So once again we lost.  We have a break for a couple of weeks for the cup matches so lets hope a break will do us a bit of good.

Thursday 12th March v Alex (Lost 2-7)

The ladies were at home this week to the ladies from the Alex.  Once again the finishing let us down.  We only won 1 game in the singles that was due to Karen finishing on double 1.  Nikki and Mary got us another point in the doubles, Mary finishing again on double 1and that was it.  We finished with a losing score of 7-2,  we played really well but we just couldn't finish, every game came down to a double 1 finish and apart from Karen and Mary we just couldn't hit it.

Stats are Top Average  Hannah 52.7,  Highest Score Nikki 116

The ladies were away to the Board Inn last night, they haven't been playing too well of late but this week they really came to the fore.  Linda got us off to a good start by winning the 1st game,  we dropped the second but Nikki got us another point in the third, Jacky and Karen both won their games so we went into the doubles with a fair score of 4-2 to the Cross Keys. Karen and Clare were up to the oche first for the doubles Clare winning the game, Nikki and Hannah played well in the 2nd but were pipped at the post on double 1.  Carol and Jacky played the 3rd and once again Jacky came up trumps finishing on double 2.  So we finished the evening winning 6-3 which was a good win for them.

Stats are dominated by Jacky, she was top average on 62.5, she had the top score 108 and highest finish on 26. 

Thursday 26th February 2015 v Black Swan (Lost 4-5)

The ladies were at home to the Black Swan last night and we really feared the worst after last week and considering that Black Swan ladies are 2nd in the league.  But we did ourselves proud, Clare got us off to a great start, she finished on 6, played really well, last week as well as this. finding form again after 1 or 2 dodgy weeks. We had to wait until game 5 for our next point, Karen our international player, has come up trumps again this week finishing on 16. We went into the doubles with a score of 4-2 to the Black Swan, which wasn't looking too bad. We lost the first game of the doubles. Linda and Clare had a fantastic game, Linda bringing home the point on double 1. Mary and Jacky played last and Jacky didn't disappoint getting us the last point of the night so we finished with a score of 4-5 to the Swans, which was pretty good considering.  It was a brilliant night and both teams enjoyed it enormously.

Thursday 19th February 2015 v Brands B  (Lost 1-8)

The ladies were away to the Brands Club last night.  Not a lot to be said really, other than we lost, if Clare hadn't have got us the only point of the night, it would have been a whitewash.  Never mind, are we downhearted, NO.  Do we feel downtrodden, NO.  Are we going to win next week YES. Look out Black Swan the ladies are out for a win.

Thursday 12th February 2015 v Rose and Crown (Won 5-4)
   
The ladies were at home last night to the ladies of the Rose & Crown.  Although we lost the 1st game, we came back fighting, and thanks to Carol, Jackie, Mary and Pat we won the next 4.  The Rose ladies didn't make it easy for us and every game came down to double 1.  We dropped the last point but we went into the doubles with a good score of 4-2 to the Cross Keys. Hannah got us our next point, again finishing on double 1.  The Rose ladies came back in the 8th and 9th game.  So we finished with a winning score of 5-4.

Stats are Top average and Highest Finish was both Jackie with an average of 65.7 and top score of 121. Next week we are away to Brands (A) 

   
Thursday 5th February 2015 v New Inn Leven (Won 5-4)

The ladies were away at the New Inn (Leven) last night and it was a great night.  We feared the worst when we lost the first 3 games but Pat pulled it back in the 4th getting our 1st point of the night, we then went from strength to strength and won the next two singles thanks to Jacky and Karen who both played excellent games.  So we had pulled it back to 3-3 for the singles. Carol and Karen were first up in the doubles and Karen pulled off another finish on double twenty. Next up to the oche were Pat and Jacky and Jacky finished again on double 1.  We lost the last game but we had won the match with a score of 5-4 to the Cross Keys Ladies. It was a brilliant night and we all played well, looking forward to next week at home at the Cross Keys.

Stats last night were Top Average Jacky 57.1, Highest score Carol 108 and highest finish Karen 40.

Thursday 15th January 2015 v New Inn Hornsea (Won 6-3) 

The New Inn Hornsea only turned up with four players, which means they forfited two single and one double game. This should have been a big advantage, but didn't seem so when the New Inn won the first three singles games, the rot was halted when Claire won her game. With the next two byes, we were 3-3 after the singles. We did win both of the doubles games with finishes by Nikki and Laura, so with the double bye game we ended up winning 6-3.

Thursday 8th Jan v Leven Club (Lost 6-3)
  
  Happy New Year to anyone who cares to read this.  The Ladies were playing top of the league Leven Club.We didn't win but we certainly didn't disgrace ourselves, we took every leg down to a finish.  First up was Mary who got us the first point.  Linda was up next, she had an excellent finish to match her brilliant scoring.  Leven then turned the heat up and they got the next 4 points so after the singles we were losing 4-2.
We got another point in the doubles giving us a fairly respectable final score 6-3. We had a good night and it was a good match.

Thursday 19th December v Hare and Hares (Lost 9-0)
  
Well the ladies reached the half way point in the league this week playing Hare & Hounds.  The score was not good but the Cross Ladies played really well.  Hare & Hounds are an excellent team and they won fair and square.  There were only 6 of us Jackie was top average 4.8.  Mary had the top score of 121. Also high scorers were Pat with 106, Jackie got a couple of 83's, Clare got an 83 and an 85.

Thursday 4th December v Double Dutch (Win 6-3)

The ladies were away to Double Dutch this week and what a good night it was.  Karen started us off really well and finished on 30 getting our 1st point of the night,  we dropped the next point but Hannah came back in the 3rd to get us another point with a double 1.  Captain Carol was up next and had a great finish of 41 followed by Clare who got us the last point of the singles.  So we went into the double with a fine score of 4-2 to the Cross Keys. Pat and Hannah were up 1st in the doubles and they didn't disappoint Hannah got us another great finish.  Linda and Mary played next and Mary had a super game finishing on 20.  We lost the last game but never mind we had won the match 6-3. Stats are Top Average  Mary 76.8.  Highest score Jacky 121 and highest finish Carol 41. No match next week its out Dart Team Christmas night out.  We are booked in for a lovely meal at the Cross Keys, you will be most welcome, why not come and buy us all a drink.
    

   
Thursday 25th Nov v Brands B (Win 6-3)

The Ladies were at home to the ladies of Brands (B) last Thursday.  We had a pretty good night all round. Linda, Clare, Hannah and Nikki won the first 4 games getting us up to a fantastic start, Linda getting the highest score 94.  We lost the next two games unfortunately for us but we were delighted to go into the doubles winning 4-2. Linda & Karen played first in the doubles, Karen won the point finishing on double 5.  Next up Carol and Clare, Clare got this one on double 1.  We lost the last game but we had won 6-3 . Hope we are back on a winning streak.

Thursday 30th October v Alex (Win 5-4)

There were a few tricky moments at the Alex but nothong much to do with the darts.  Wins in the singles by Carol, Mary, Nikki and Karen meant that we were 4-2 up after the singles. We did lose two of the doubles but Nikki did finish one of the games so that we ended up winning 5-4. We are still near the top of the league and doing well.

Thursday 23th October v  Board Inn (Win 5-4)
    
  After a couple of tricky weeks which I couldn't report on for technical reasons the ladies were at home at the Cross Keys this week playing Board Inn.
Before this weeks report I have to mention that two weeks ago Linda scored probably the best finish of the season for us.  She finished on 60 with 2 darts -  20 and double 20 well done, we could do with a few more like that.
Anyway last Thursday got off to a bad start after we lost the first 3 games.  Pat stopped the rot by finishing on double 3 to get us our 1st point.  Carol played next and got us another point finishing on double 1.  We won the last point by default so after the singles we had score of 3-3.
We lost the next game but once again Carol got the point finishing on double 1 in game 8 and to finish it off Mary got us the last point.  So we had won another match.  We're doing quite well, third in the league.

A bit of a strange match as only 4 of the opposing team turned up. We did win two games courtesy of Linda and Hannah, and ended up winning 5-4 due to three byes! One point more and we would have been top of the league.

          
Thursday 2nd October v Rose and Crown (Win 6-3)
   
The Withernwick Ladies were away this week to the Ladies of the Rose and Crown. They started off in fine style with Hannah getting our first point finishing on 16.  Captain Carol was up next but couldn't get the finish.  Linda, Mary and Nikki made up for it though all three of them winning their games. We did drop the last point but we went into the doubles with a good score of 4-2 to the Cross Keys. Linda and Nikki went up first both ladies had an excellent game and Nikki got the double again, another point, (thank you very much).  We lost the next game but it didn't matter, Mary and Jacky got us the last point of the night, Jacky finishing on double 7.  So we had won another game (6-3) keeping us at 2nd in the league.  Things are looking up for us ladies.

Thursday 25th October v New Inn Leven (Win 7-2)

The Withernwick ladies were at home at the Cross Keys against New Inn Leven last Thursday.  I think its fair to say we had a pretty successful evening. Lizzy and her team are a good bunch of girls and are all good players so we were delighted to come away with a win. First up was Captain Carol who's scoring of late leaves a lot to be desired, but she seems to be able to find the doubles and she got us our first point. Next up was Nikki who got us another point followed by our international player Karen who also got us the next point. Things were really looking good when Linda got the 4th point, we did drop the 5th point but got the 6th by default.  So how good was that, after the singles with a score of 5-1 we had already won the match, but we played on for the points. Mary and Carol were up first in the doubles, (the dream team)  Mary did some excellent scoring and Carol once again finished on double 1. We lost the next game but Mother and daughter duo Linda and Hannah came up trumps again, Linda finishing for the second time of the evening giving us a winning score 7-2.

Thursday 18th September v New Inn (Hornsea) (Win 5-4)

As you are probably all aware, there are great changes in the Falcon.  Sadly John has left and we all miss him greatly, but I know he and Julie and family are all well settled and doing o.k.  This has opened the door for Richard and Lyndsey who want to take the food side a step further and so it has been agreed by both parties that the Darts teams should move.  We all, in the team, wish Richard and Lyndsey the very best of luck for the future and look forward to The Falcon opening very soon.
So both the ladies and the mens teams have moved just down the road to the Cross Keys at Cowden where we are very much enjoying playing.  As some people are still interested in how we are doing I will continue to write a report.
The Ladies were at New Inn Hornsea last night, first up was Pat who got us our first point of the night,  unfortunately we lost the next two games but Clare came back in the 4Th game to finish on double 2.  Carol got the next point finishing on 28 (after scoring like an idiot) and the Hannah got a well deserved last point after some tremendous scoring and finishing on 14.
So, we went into the doubles with a good score 4-2 the Cross Keys. Sadly we lost the first doubles but this weeks 'Dream Team' Hannah and Carol got the next point Hannah with her scoring and Carol finishing on 9.  Jacky and Clare were very unlucky to lose their game, they both scored brilliantly, but just missed it.
