Wilsrop Ellis and his chidren ran the shop on Main Street,

They did use a cycle for very local deliveries but prsumably they needed
the van for larger deliveries and picking up supplies.

Arthur Jennison was born in the village in 1907, he worked for the Ellis family
for all of his working life. His elder brother, James, also worked for the family.  
Arthur must be aged about 30 in the photos.
He did go on to fight in World War 2.
   
Sadly the photos are not good enough for us to identify the make of the van.
