The team play their home games at the Cross Kays, Cowden, they are now called Cross Keys A.
Most of the team is made up of Withernwick ladies, so it is right that we should continue to report their results here.

The averages in red are the official averages which contain a 100 point bonus for  a finish. In order to make the averages more easily readable by general readers, the averages in red do not have the finish bonus but do have the number of finishes in brackets.

    
Thursday 28th April 2016 (v New Inn, Leven, won 5-4)

The ladies played their final match of the season this week against the New Inn, Leven. After a shaky start they found their feet with wins from Linda, finishing on 30 and then Karen finishing on double 1. Hannah was next with a great finish on 36. Qe got the fourth point by default and dropped the last two points but we went into the doubles with a respectable score of 4-2 to the ladies.
Mary and Nikki got us another point in the doubles with Nikki finsihing on double 1. We therefore finished the match with a winning score of 5-4. So a pretty good night was had by all.
All is all we have a pretty good season and have really enjoyed it. Start again in September.

Thursday 14th April 2016 (v Alex, Hornsea, lost 4-5)

The ladies were at home to the ladies from the Alex this week and playing thier penultimate game. We got off to an excellent start with Karen knocking up some excellent scores and finishing on double 4. Hannah played next, again getting some excellent scores and finishing on 60 (20 and double top); brilliant and that was without her glasses, she's so good she obviously doesn't need them. Carol was up next but she is having trouble finding form at the minute (which is a nice way of saying that she's playing rubbish!), she lost the point. Mary got the next game, finishing on double 1. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there; we lost the next two games, so we went into the doubles with the scores level at 3-3. It is a good job Karen was playing with Hannah, and she got us the only point of the doubles. So we ended the match with a score of 4-5 to the Alex ladies. I thought we played very well and we did have a great night socially, as we always do. if anyone feels that they would like to join our team. any other team or form their own, you would be most welcome, so please contact me if you are interested. Next week we are in the final of the Cup and we are playing the Rose and Crown at the New Inn, Hornsea.

Thursday 31st March 2016 (v Black Swan, lost 3-6)

The ladies were away to the ladies of the top of the league - Black Swan. We put up a valiant fight and did really well but they are a very tough team to beat. Both Karen and Pat got us wins in the singles, Karen finishing in the second game on double 1 and Pat in the third on double 7. However we had to wait for the second game of the doubles before getting another point care of Linda. So we lost 6-3 to the top of the league team, so not too bad.
No match next week as it is the Vice-Captain's Cup at Brands Club.

Thursday 24th March 2016 (v Brands B, lost 3-6)

The ladies were at home to the ladies from Brands Club B. It wasn't the best game we've had but we did have a laugh. The only winner of the singles was Clare, finishing on double 1. We did fare a little bit better in the doubles with Jacky getting us another point finishing on 23 then good old Clare finished again in the last game with a great finish of 46. So we ended up losing 6-3.

Thursday 17th March 2016 (v Rose and Crown, won 6-3)

The ladies were away to the Rose and Crown, Hornsea this week. We got off to a fantastic start with Karen finishing on 51 (15 double 18). pat was next finishing on 22. Clare played third and finished on double 1, as did Nikki to get us our fourth point in a row. We dropped the next two points but we went into the doubles with a lead of 4-2.
Mary and Jacky played in the first doubles and Jacky has a great finish on 33. Pat got us another point, her second win of the evening. We lost the last game vbut we had won the match with a good score of 6-3. We had some really good finishing this week and the team played some really good games.

Thursday 3rd March 2016 (v Duke of York, Skirlaugh, lost 5-4)

Well the Cross Keys looks fabulous with its new decor, carpets, dart board and lights but we didn't shine that bright this week. We were playing the Duke of York, we did miss Mary and Hannah but we got off to a great start with wins from both Linda and Pat. We dropped the next two but then Clare came back in the third to get us another point. We lost the last point of the singles, so we went into the double with the score at 3-3.
Pat got her second finish of the evening in the first double, so we were briefly in the lead. Unfortuantely it was short lived and we lost tge next two games, so the final score was 5-4 to the Duke of York. There is no match next week, but we will be practicing at the Cross Keys.

Thursday 25th February (v Hare and Hounds, lost 7-2)

The ladies were away to the Hare and Hounds this week, always a good night but they are a good team and we never seem able to get the better of them. We tried really hard in the singles but only Mary managed to get us a point. In the other games, we scored well, in particular, Linda got a 142 but its scroing for show and doubles for dough, and we just couldn't finish well enough. We got ome point through Linda and Karen, with Linda finishing on 25. So it wasn't quite a white-wash, so onward and upwards. next week we are at home to the Duke of York.

Thursday 18th February (v Brands A, won 7-2)

The ladies were at home this week to the ladies of Brands A and what a good night it was. Hannah started us off in game 1 with our first point, finishing on double 1. We were very unlucky to lose our second game as we scored really well but were beaten to the double. Mary got us our second point in the third game with a finish from 48. Jacky was next, finishing on double 2 and Carol got us our last point of the singles with a finish on double 16. So at this point we were leading 4-2.
Karen and Linda started us of in the doubles with Linda finishing on double 1. Next up was Mary and Hannah, both players were in brilliant form, Mary did the scoring and Hannah got the double, another point to us. Last up were Carol and Pat, they got us the final point of the evening, giving us a final score of 7-2 to the Cross Keys. We had a really fun night and the win was a real bonus.

Thursday 11th February 2016 (v Board Inn, lost 6-3)

The ladies were away to the Baord Inn this week. The Board are a nice team and they have struggled to get a fixed lineup of late. I do however think Michell should hang onto the ones she's got as they are doing remarkably well. We didn't do well in the singles despite some really good scores and Carol even gettinga 180 (about time). Karen was the only one in the singles to get a finish, asn that being double 20 (well done).
We fared a bit better in the doubles, Karen and Hannah getting us a point with Hannah finishing on double one. Then Clare and Karen got us the last point, again finishing on double one.
Some of the spectators got and bit rowdy towards the end and started throwing things around but no one got hurt and all went wll in the end.

Thursday 4th February 2016 (cup match, beat Brands A)
   
The ladies were in the semi-final of the cup this week and they did themselves proud. The cup matches are 5 games of doubles and the winner is the first to three wins. Hannah and Nikki were up first and won the second leg, but Brands won the third and so got the point. Linda and Mary were up next, Mary had a fantastic finish of 65 in the first leg and Linda fisnished on 30 in the third so 1-1 at this point. Pat and Jacy were up third they finished first in two legs. Karen and Clare were next and they also finished in the first two legs, so we had won 3-1 and didn't need to play the fifth leg. It's been quite a while since we've been in a final, so wish us luck.

I think we got a little complacent and thought the match would be an easy win, but the New Inn played like Trojans and they beat us very convingly 5 games to 4. Thursday 21st January 2016 (v Leven Club, lost 7-2)

The ladies were away to top of the league, Leven Club this week. We played really well, it's just that our opponents were quicker to the finish. Nikki was the only one to get us a point in the singles which was very well deserved as her scoring and finish were excellent. Good score also came from Mary 125, Karen 94 and Carol 84.
 We didn't fair much better in the doubles but Clare and Linda got us another point with Clare finishing on double two. It was also good to have Hannah back with us this week, always a good and consistent player.
We finished the match with the score at 7-2 to Leven Club. I suppose it could have been worse, but, hey, onwards and upwards.

Thursday 14th January 2016 (v Cross Keys B, lost 5-4)

Happy New Year to everyone, the ladies were back at the dartboard after our Christmas break, this week playing Cross Keys B. It was a close game and we thought we had the edge after leading 4-2 after the singles; Clare, Carol , Linda and Mary all brought home the points. Both Linda and Mary had good finishes, Linda on 26 and Mary with a brilliant 37.
We were less fortunate in the doubles, we lost all three games, so we finished with a disappointing but respectable 5-4 loss to the B team.

The ladies were away to the Alex this week. They always hive us a good game, although they were a bit too good for us this time. We had some good scores but they were a bit good at finishing. Mary and Clare got us our only two points in the singles, Mary finishing on double 2 and Clare on double 1. We needed all three doubles games to win but it was not to be. Linda got us our only win and so we came away with a loss of 6-3. Never mind there is always next year.

The ladies were away to the Duke of York, Skirlaugh this week. We got off to a good start with Nikki getting our first point. We lost the next two games but Clare and Carol won their games. We were very unlucky to lose the last of the singles games and so we went into the doubles drawing 3-3.
Unfortuantely we couldn't get it together in the doubles and we lost all three. So the finishing score was 6-3 to the Duke of York. It was however a good night and we really enjoyed it, as we always do.
No match next week as we have a bye but the week after that we are at the Rose and Crown, Hornsea.

Thursday 22nd October 2015 (v Hare and Hounds, lost 3-6)

The ladies were at home this week to the Hare and Hounds. They are a good team of players but they are also a lot of fun and we always have a great night. We didn't get off to a good start, winning only one of our singles, courtesy of Jackie but at least we knew it wasn't going to be a whitewash. We fared fared little better in the doubles, we lost the first game but Hannah got us a oint in the second and Carol got the last point of the night. So not so bad, we came away with three points and we all had a very good time. Jackie had an exceptionally good game finishing with our highest average of the year so far.
Nest week we are away to the Duke of York.

The ladies were away to the ladies from Brands Club A this week. This produced another good win, after our disastrous start to the seasonwe have now settled down and are riding high at position 4 in the league. We dropped the first two games but Jackie got us a point in the third game with a winning finish of 39. Hannah got us our next point finishing on double 1, Nikki also finsihed her game on double 1 but mary finished on double 2 after a great game. So far so good, it being 4-2 to us after the singles. First up in the doubles was Karen and Hannah, Hannah finished on double 17 after Karen had had an excellent score of 109 which included two bull's eyes.We lost the next game but Linda and Nikki got us the last point of the evening, finishing on double 1. So we ended the evening with a winning score of 6-3.

   The ladies were at home to the ladies from the Board Inn this week,  what  good game it was. Karen got the first point in the first point in the first game finishing on double 1.  Next up it was Jackie who got us another point finishing on double 2. we dropped the next point but never to mind, Clare got us another win in the 4th with a fantastic finish of 54. the 5th was won by the Board Inn but Nikki got us the last point in the singles with some excellent scoring and another win on double 1. Going into the doubles with a score of 4-2 to the X Keys, we were to get 1 more point courtesy of Hannah finishing on 31 giving us a winning score of 5-4.

Thursday 24th September 2015 (v New Inn, Hornsea - Won 8-1)
   
The ladies were away this week to the New Inn (Hornsea) and what a fantastic game it was. Nikki was up first got a score of 140 in her 4th throw and went to finish on double 1.  Linda was up next, she got the highest finish of the night with 14.  Clare got the next point with a 121 followed by a 73 she finished on double 2.  Pat next, she got a finish on double 6 and last up was Carol who finished on double 1 after a couple of big scores 108 and 132.  Also Karen won her singles game on double one in a very close game. So we went into the doubles with an unbelievable score of 6-0.
We lost the 1st point in the doubles, but Jackie and Hannah got us yet another point Jacky finishing on double 1 and Clare and Linda did it again, Clare finishing on 12.  New Inn played really well but we really excelled ourselves.   Well done ladies, great game,  next week we are at home to Board Inn.

Thursday 17th September 2015 (v Leven Club - Lose 3-6)
     
  The ladies were at home to league champions Leven Club on Thursday, after lasts weeks result we were determined not to let it get us down.  It looked a bit worrying when we lost the first 3 games but than Karen had a brilliant game, beating Levens captain to get us our 1st point, Clare played next and got us another point with both great scoring and finishing. Last up in the singles was Nikki who didn't disappoint, she got us another point with a brilliant finish of double tops. Unfortunately we lost all our doubles games but they were all very close, Linda and Mary had a particularly good game but they couldn't get the point.  Overall we played a damn good game and I was extremely proud of the team.

Thursday 10th September 2015 (v Cross Keys B - Lose 1-8)
   
Well it was the 1st match of the season and we didn't get off to the best of starts,  we lost to Cross Keys (B) Pat being the only player to get us a point.  We didn't play particularly bad, but the other team played considerably better. Linda had the highest average of 48.2 which is pretty good without a finish.  Next week we are at home to Leven Club, lets hope we can improve a bit on the score.
