The Coupland Family of Withernwick
 
The Coupland's lived in the village for quite a long time
They lived in various places including Spetch Cottages and Tanton Terrace
This is the family of George and Ann Coupland, they had 13 children.

George Etherington b 1878 in Beveley with Selina Etherington (nee Coupland)
Selina was another daughter of George and Ann Coupland.
On the left is Evelyn Coupland and on the right is Hilda Coupland (neither Evelyn nor Hilda were ever married.
      
   
George and Ann had many children, some are in the photos above.
Another of their sons, George M Coupland was killed in the First World War.
This is a photo of his gravestone in the Lijssenhoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge. 
He was killed on 5th January 1916 near Ypres.
