Henry Robinson (1850-1939)

Henry was born in Withernwick in 1850 and left us the fantastic legacy of a very detailed life story which brings life in the nineteenth century vividly to life. Click here to read Henry's story, it is well worth a read.

Below is a photo of Henry with his granddaughter Marian Robinson probably in the late 1920's.
All of the photos were probably taken in Driffield.

Below is another photo from about the same time,
he is shown with some of retirement gifts given to him after 45 years working at Nafferton station.

Below is a rather grainy photo from a newspaper clipping from a Driffield newspaper in 1928. As his life story tells us he became a railway man and ended up living and working in Driffield. The model was made by Henry and is of Denby Wiske church.
