A view of the Falcon and Lorne Terrace from Main Street - 1956.
The fenestration of the Falcon has changed a little.
4 Lorne Terrace still has its blocked and painted 'window', possibly a remnant of the window tax which was not abolished until 1851.
Number 4 has had an eventful history due to the dangerous nature of the corner.
On one occasion, when a Jimmy Wood lived there, a EYMS bus crashed into the cottage.
Then there was a more romantic event, a Mr Hudson lived in it then,  when a love-struck teenager ran his car into it.
On the far right can just be seen a corner of Ellis' fish and chip shop.
