Robert was born in Garton in 1842. He married Mary (born in Roos c 1840).
They lived in Roos as a young couple and had chidren there including
Alice Matilda would later married Arthur Herbert Carr who lived in Withernwick

Mary died in 1925 and then Robert retired to Withernwick to be near his daughter,
he lived in the now demolished cottages on Church Lane.
