Well the Fete went ahead, the weather was glorious, sun-tans all round!
Indeed it was a roaring success, honestly far exceeding anyone's
expectations. Many people did work very hard to set up the fete, mainly on
Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and people also worked very hard on
the day, so everyone contributed to the successful outcome.
All events worked well, although I'm sure we have learnt a lot and can improve even more next year. We will no doubt organise a review meeting to discuss the event, provisionally the date for next year is Sunday 13th June 2010.
The fete was also financially very successful, the provisional total profit is £1713 (this may alter), so the RNIB, St Alban's Church and the Children's Christmas Party will benefit with plenty of money.
But the main benefit of the afternoon was for the people of Withernwick, I think everyone in the village turned out and created a real and genuine community feel. I hate the phrase "Team Bonding", but for once I think this actually applies! We now have to keep this going, I dearly hope we will.

are now ready, you can if you wish order a 6 x 4 print of any photo,
simply let me know the numbers by e-mail and when I get enough I
will go and run them off at ASDA. I'm not sure as yet how much each
print will cost but just sufficient to cover my costs + a little bit
towards running the website.
Alternatively, I will also have the videos ready soon, and then I will produce a CD with all the photos (full size) and videos on. I suspect I will charge about £2 for each of these, again just to cover costs + a bit extra. Again, let me know if you are interested by e-mail so I know how many to produce. |
