Chris, as a 7 year old, was evacuated to the village from the East End of London in 1944.
He lived in the village from 1944 to 1945 and stayed with Ivy Gowthorpe at 10 High Street.
He now lives in Australia but still has fond memories of his relatively brief time in Withernwick.
